Natural environment and its troubles are prevalent. Environment conservation requires appropriate pro-environmental behaviors. Thus, this paper aimed to investigate the environmental behavior (EB) and its relationship to environmental concern, using environmental awareness Informative resources and some demographic factors such as gender and age among Iranian university students (the case of Shiraz University students). Using a survey method and a structured questionnaire, 400 students were studied in Iran. The environmental behavior scale (Mirfardi et al., 2017) and self- administered environmental concern scale were used for measuring the variables. The samples were selected via clustering sampling with the appropriated size. Face validity and factor analysis were used for the validity and Croanbach’s Alpha (environmental behavior= 0.55; environmental concern= 0.77; use of environmental awareness informative resources, 0.68) for the reliability evaluation. Findings showed that there was a direct and significant relationship between the variables of age, and environmental concern as well as the environmental awareness informative resources as independent variables and the pro-environmental behavior as the dependent variable (p. < o.oo1) Also, the environmental behavior variable showed a significant difference with the gender variable. This study showed that environmental concern, and age have important roles in the formation of environmental behavior.

Today, environmental degradation and the lack of awareness of the farmers about its issues is one of the major challenges in rural areas .Therefore, sustainable environmental behavior in these areas is very important to achieve national development goals. Therefore, this study has been conducted with the aim of investigating the mediation role of intention in analysis of the factors influencing sustainable environmental behavior among farmers. The study population was consisted of farmers in Zanjan township that according to Cochran’s formula, 300 of them were selected by multistage sampling method. A questionnaire was used as research tools. Face and content validity of the questionnaire had been confirmed by panel of experts and key informant before the pre-test stage. The reliability of instrument was assessed by conducting a pilot study among 30 samples out of the original sample. The reliability of instrument for the all sections based on Cronbach's alpha coefficients value (in the range of 0.72 to 0.88) shows acceptable level of internal consistency. Data analysis was performed by SPSS24 and AMOS22 software. The collected data was analyzed using structural equation modeling technique. The results based on direct structural model showed that there is a positive and significant effect between variables such as subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and environmental attitudes with the dependent variable of sustainable environmental behavior in agriculture. Also, based on the mediation structural model specified that intention variable had a mediation role on the relationship between independent variable with sustainable environmental behavior in agriculture and these variables explained 39% of variances of dependent variable.

Humans cannot solve environmental problems without any change in their thoughts and behaviors. The present study has been done to investigate the factors influencing environmental behavior of rice cultivators in order to sustainability of paddy in the County of Sari. This research is applied researches kind that has been done in descriptive-correlational method. The population of the research consisted of rice cultivators in County of Sari (N =24502) that 269 of them were chosen based on Cochran formula. A questionnaire was used to collect data; its validity was confirmed by experts and scholars and for the reliability of the questionnaire, after a pilot test, the 30 copy of which was completed by rice cultivators of Miyanrood County. The Cronbach’s alpha for the mentioned questionnaire was reported as 0.74. The results showed that 58.5 percent of rice cultivators are at an average level of environmental protection. Correlation analysis showed that there is a significant relationship between number of family members of rice cultivators, performance, total annual income of paddy per year, social feature, training methods, attitudes and information resources with environmental behavior. Multiple step by step regression analysis showed that 27 percent of the variance in the level of environmental protection behaviors of rice cultivators was explained by three variables of training methods, total annual income of paddy per year and performance.

Today the importance of the environment is a global issue. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of identifying the relationship between psychological empowerment and intrinsic motivation with environmental behavior through descriptive-survey. The statistical population consisted of first-grade high school students in district 2 of Tehran, among which 380 were randomly selected. Three questionnaires were used to collect data: Spreitzer psychological empowerment (1995), Patrick & Leone intrinsic motivation (2009) and Erzengin & Teke environmental behavior (2013). The results of Pearson correlation coefficient and linear regression showed that among the components of psychological empowerment there was a significant relationship between the components of sense of meaning, sense of competence and sense of efficacy with environmental behavior but the component of the sense of choice was not significant. The overall relation between two variables (psychological empowerment and environmental behavior) was also significant. Among components of intrinsic motivation, interest and pleasures components, sense of effort, sense of powerfulness and utilization also had a significant relationship with environmental behavior, but there was no significant relationship between the sensitization components. The overall relation between two variables (intrinsic motivation and environmental behavior) was also significant.

The aim of this paper was to investigate environmental behavior of wheat farmers and its’ affecting factors according to the Stern’s Value-Beliefs-Norm Theory. The statistical population was wheat farmers in Shahid-Abad Dehestan, Fars province that 110 wheat farmers were selected as a sample using Krejcie and Morgan sample size table and cluster random sampling method. The study instrument was a questionnaire which its validity confirmed by a panel of experts and its’ reliability was confirmed using a pilot study and calculating Cronbach's Alpha coefficient. The results indicated that Biospheric and Altruistic values and also place attachment, place dependency, ecological worldview, awareness of consequences, and sense of obligation to take action had significant effects on environmental ethics but environmental ethics remained uncertain in explaining environmental behavior. Therefore, it seems that some moderator variables may change the association between the two variables. Accordingly, two variables of subjective-social norm and access to agricultural resources were identified. The findings of the covariance test showed that environmental ethics in the presence of newly grouped variable has an impact on environmental behavior and the interaction of environmental ethics and grouped variable on environmental behavior is significant.

The primary purpose of the study was to determine the factors affecting the environmental behavior of farmers cucumber production systems of Tehran, Iran. The research framework was developed based on the farm health model for assessing the environmental behaviors of farmers in conversation with the planned behavior model for exploring the factors influencing on their environmental behavior. A survey with a sample of 124 operators selected by clustering sampling was undertaken in Tehran province. Findings revealed that the growers of cucumber greenhouse implemented the measures of integrated soil, plant nutrient, and pest management. Stepwise regression analysis was used to determine the influence of exogenous factors, farm and farmer characteristics upon the environmental behavior of 124 cucumber growers. Analyses revealed that environmental behaviors were influenced by external factors (extension services) as well as the age, mechanization level, social participation; and the feasibility of technologies. However, impacts of farmer characteristics including attitude and economic condition on EB of cucumbers growers were significant respectively. Finally, consideration of these variables as determinant factors in a ‘targeted policy approach’ involving two suggestions is recommended to promote the environmental behavior of farmers.

The pro-environmental behavior is one of the most effective factors for protecting the environment. This behavior is influenced by many factors including individuals’ environmental attitudes and knowledge. This study was conducted to investigate the relationships between environmental knowledge with environmental behaviors with regard to the mediation role of environmental attitudes. This research has been conducted through survey method. The statistical population was 1850 agricultural students at Bu-Ali Sina University. Based on Krejcie and Morgan's table, a sample of 300 agricultural students was chosen through simple random sampling method. Data was collected using a standardized survey questionnaire. The face and content validity of the questionnaire was confirmed by agricultural extension and education experts, and its’ reliability was confirmed by pilot study and Cronbach’s Alpha. Results indicated that both objective and subjective environmental knowledge were correlated with environmental behavior. Furthermore, environmental attitudes mediated the relation between subjective environmental knowledge and environmental behavior. By investigating the relationships between subjective and objective environmental knowledge and environmental attitudes with environmental behaviors, greater insight is gained with regard to this behavior.

The aim of the present research is to offer a causal model of the environmental behavior based on parenting styles and interactive role of identity processing styles among high school girls in Darab. For this purpose , among 13480 high school girls studying in grade 2 in 2015-2016 in Darab , about 375 of high school girls were selected as the research sample through relatively stratified sampling. Measurement tools were Schiffer's parenting questionnaire (1965), Berzonsky's identity processing style questionnaire (1979) and Emamgholi's environental behavior questionnaire (2011). In this research descriptive and inductive statistical methods such as correlative and route analysis were used to analyze the hypotheses. The research findings showed that the parenting styles through identity processing styles had an indirect and meaningful effect on the environmental behavior, and the most to the least indirect effect on the environmental behavior was related to the dictatorial , decisive, indifferent, and neglectful parenting respectively through identity processing styles. Also, informational and normative identity had an indirect and positive effect and bewildered-avoiding identity had a negative and meaningful effect on the environmental behavior. Based on the findings of this research, parenting styles and identity processing styles express 41% of changes in the environmental behavior.

The pro-environmental behavior is one of the most effective factors for protecting the environment which is heavily depending on the environmental awareness of citizens. This study explored the effect of “environmental awareness” on “attitude” and “environmental behaviors” of Qom university female students based on Bamberg and Möser’s Theory about the factors affecting environmental behaviors. Survey research method was adopted and the data collection instrument was questionnaire. In the current study, 370 participants were selected using Cochrane formula for categorical sampling. The descriptive results showed most of the students’ (57.9 %) environmental awareness seem to be at medium level. The inferential results indicated that, there was a significant relationship between the “environmental awareness“, “environmental attitude“, “tendency for environmental behavior“ and “pro-environmental behaviors“ while no significant relationship between the awareness resources and environmental awareness was observed. “Environmental awareness” directly, indirectly and generally exerts remarkable influence on environmental behavior. The results of regression analysis showed that the three remaining independent variables explain only 20.6 % of the variance of the dependent variable. In total, the findings of the present study confirmed the theoretical framework based on which the research model was planned. For improving pro-environmental behaviors, awareness resources must be reinforced; all state and private organizations and institutes as well as families must help the process of “environmental socialization”, and education quality must be enhanced.

The individual and social behaviors of people affect on the environment and its problems. The recognition of villagers’ social capital effect on their environmental behaviors can provide an important contribution to environmental protection planners in the rural areas. The current descriptive correlation study was done with the aim of investigating the social capital effect on villagers’ environmental behavior. The target population were all of the rural households in Marivan City (N=11228), by using Cochran sampling formula, 250 subjects selected through randomized multi-stage sampling method. Data analysis was done by using of Spss20 software and correlation and regression statistical methods step by step. The results showed that 82.8 percent of villagers have environmental protection behavior on an average level. The level of social trust, social cohesion and social participation in the viewpoint of the majority of villagers (65.6, 62.4 and 98 percent respectively) was moderate. The correlation analysis showed that there is a positive meaningful relationship among all three components of social capital with the villagers’ environmental behaviors. A step by step multiple regression analysis showed that four variables of educational level, social participation, age and social cohesion explain 37.7 percent of villagers environmental protection behavior level.

To foster environmental friendly behavior, it is necessary to understand individual an social norms. Thus, this study aims toanswer the question that to what extent these norms are facilitating individual’s environmental behaviorand to what extent, they are filling the gap between attitudes and behaviors towards environmental behavior. This study was conducted among urban dwellers of Mazandaran province in 2016 with utilizing survey method. To identify the sample, a cluster sampling method was applied and 467 people were surveyed. The questionnaire was used as a mean of data collection and the validity was measured by utilizing some experts, while reliability of the questionnaire was measured by using Alpha Cronbach technique. The results of the study show that levels of individual and social norms are not so strong among surveyed people. However, the results indicate that above mentioned norms affectenvironmental behaviors. These types of norms also help to fill the gap between attitudes and environmental behaviors. The results of regression analysis also show that social norms have most influence on environmental friendly behavior and are a strong predictor compared with other surveyed variables. The paper is ended up with some explanation about norms weaknesses.

This research is allocated to examine the extent of environmental knowledge, attitude and performance of students in order to measure their needs for environmental education. This study is done by survey method through questionnaire, and the environmental knowledge, attitude and performance of 150 students of Isfahan elementary schools, chosen by multi-step cluster sampling, is measured. The findings indicate that students have a relatively good knowledge about the necessity of plant types existence, dangers of sound pollution, and dangers of getting rid of trash in a wrong way, but they don’t have enough information about lack of necessary resources in life varieties and the effects of trees in reduction of sound pollution. 80 percent of students don’t know the sign of recycling and don’t have a good knowledge about recyclable substances. They even have no knowledge about ozone-friendly sign on products and the necessity of paying attention to it. Yet, they have a positive attitude about their own part and other people's part in reduction of environmental pollution. They're worried about their own health because of environmental reasons, but still don’t believe that human use the environment wrongly.
