Local media play an indispensable role in crisis management, including environmental crises. In our country, Khuzestan province has been facing a dust crisis for many years, but the local media have not performed well in this crisis. In this regard, this study was conducted with the aim of improving the performance of local media in the province in the face of a dust environmental crisis. Thus, the study was designed to achieve these solutions, and a semi-structured interview method was conducted to collect information. The statistical population of this study included experts in the field of media, crisis, and environment, and through targeted sampling, finally, 12 experts were selected and interviewed. By analyzing data through thematic analysis research method, 36 solutions in eight general categories including (human resources), (informing) & (policy-making), (educating) and (improving public participation), (demanding), (warning), (co-working and coordinating with authorities of crisis) were presented. By applying these strategies in local media planning, local media can improve their performance in environmental crises.

Resilience has the potential to enter the environmental disaster management cycle: before, during and after an accident. The purpose of this study is to investigate the existing models in the field of resilience against environmental disasters. This research was conducted by Meta-Analysis method. The statistical population of the current study included related researches that were available at inside and outside the country as full-text articles, dissertations and research projects in databases and libraries of Universities or government centers. Based on inclusion and exit criteria, 25 studies were reviewed. The results of the research led to the formation of a comprehensive model with 14 components of Environment and Agriculture, Human, Physical, Social and Cultural, Economic and Financial, Insurance, Risk Reduction, Psychological, Demographic, Institutional and Organizational, and Community Competency and Lifestyle, Information and Communication, Leadership and Strategy, and Protection and Security. Reliability was calculated through the Kappa coefficient with value of 0.95, which is at the level of excellent agreement. The model obtained from the research by identifying the factors affecting the community resilience against environmental disasters provides the possibility of improving crisis management, reducing damages and the necessary contexts for educational planning in the country.

The study of the resilience of the cities against earthquake is one of the necessities for the reduction of losses and death toll of the earthquakes. Resilience has various definitions and there is not a unique comprehensive model for its quantitative assessment. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to provide a comprehensive quantitative indicator for resilience and to study the efficacy of social and governance strategies in improvement of urban resilience against earthquake. To achieve this aim, first effective dimensions and indices of resilience of urban areas were explored and extracted by reviewing available research studies and experts elicitation method. Then based on experts’ opinions and pairwise comparison the model was justified and the relative weights for dimensions and indices were obtained and a comprehensive overall resilience index was introduced. Using the proposed index, the efficacy of different social and governance strategies were compared considering three different earthquake scenarios of North-Tehran, Ray fault, and floating faults. The comparisons were based on three metrics i.e. absolute value of resilience increase, distance from the origin of the Pareto chart considering implementation duration time and costs, and the ratio of cost to resilience increase. In this regard, strategy S3 (90 percent increase of social resilience), strategy S1 (10 percent increase of social resilience) and strategy S3 were the optimal ones based on the first, second, and third metrics, respectively. On the whole, the social strategies had better efficiency than the governance ones, but it seems in practice the social and governance strategy categories must be implemented in an integrated manner which could be considered as a future research proposal.

According to increasing waste production and scarcity of land allocated for landfill in urban areas, concerns the ecological damages caused by hazardous waste and losses incurred to the environment, municipal waste management, has been extremely important. People’s tendency to the recycling and waste management influenced by various factors such as incentive action and Education. Therefore, in this study with using survey data from 391 households in Mashhad in 1391, we explored the seven policies to reduce waste produced by households. The results indicate that first of all the environmental education then considering the economic incentives and is important, later variable pricing model based on the weight and volume of waste, urban areas, chapters and ultimately increase fixed rate for garbage collection services are effective for the reduction of waste production. According to the findings, in order to control and reduce the amount of waste produced by households and reduce environmental pollution, a set of policies based on environmental education and create economic incentives were proposed for the planners of the arena.

The present study aimed to investigate the role of mass media in the development of sustainable tourism in the Amol City. Data collection has been done by questionnaire which its validity was confirmed by relevant experts and specialist and reliability of the questionnaire was validated by Cronbach's test with 0.74coefficient. Data analysis was done using descriptive statistic (frequency, net percentage, etc.), inferential statistic (one sample t test) and SPSS software. The findings indicate that there is a relation between the level of access to the mass media, cultural influence, media advertising, and access to amenities (Audiovisual). Results showed that in the study area considering distributed field works between tourists, mass media had an effective role in the introduction and development of sustainable tourism of that area.

In recent years, due to destruction and depletion of the special natural resources and for the prevention of excessive depletions and conservation of the present resources, most of the communities are tended to the training methods which are necessary for sustainable conservation. So, the objective of this study is evaluating environmental considerations in the informal trainings which are provided for eco-tour leaders of Guilan and assessing their conformity with the environmental standards and finally measuring the effectiveness of trainings and their effect on eco-tour leaders. The target population was the eco-tour leaders of Guilan which were 50 people. Initially, a questionnaire was prepared on the base of environmental content of training courses for data collection. The prepared questionnaire was included 30 questions which were related to before and after training courses. Then data were analyzed using the statistical methods. Results showed that the content of training, regarding to the existence of environmental knowledge, is acceptable to some extent, but the most weaknesses of the eco-tour leaders were the less information about the environmental regulations and laws after training courses. Finally, according to the education and age level of eco-tour leaders and prospering presence and participation of women in the field of tourism and training contents, it become possible that more specialized concepts and laws would be presented in the training courses which led the increase of the courses feedback and improving the tourism and ecotourism industry in the short term.
